Private Duty Caregiver
A Private Duty Caregiver helps people with daily activities after an acute illness when they are not able to do it themselves. At Affinity Home Care Agency, our Private Duty Caregivers will assist you (or your loved one) with tasks that are difficult to complete on their own.
Our goal is to help you stay independent at home by making certain daily activities easier. Our Private Duty Caregivers will travel to your home or, in some cases, a senior living community. A typical visit begins with checking vital signs and helping you with grooming, bathing, dressing, or other personal care needs. The tasks assigned to your caregiver will depend on your needs, your doctor’s orders, and your plan of care.
What will our Private Duty Caregivers do during their visit? It depends on your specific care plan. However, the services you receive may include the following:
- Bathing/showering
- Getting dressed
- Grooming (shaving, washing/brushing hair, nail care, skin care, foot care, ear care and mouth care)
- Medication reminders
- Monitoring changes in your symptoms
- Moving from one place to another (ex. from a bed to a wheelchair)
- Positioning to maintain skin care
- Toileting
With Affinity Home Care Agency, the responsibilities of your Private Duty Caregiver are defined at the start of your care, so you will know what to expect when they visit.
